THE SYDNEY BLUES SOCIETY
From the Editor’s Desk
February Jam
A couple of months back, Chris Martin Murphy sent me this great collection of photos from our February Jam. I know February’s a while ago now, but here they are at last. Chris particularly wanted to mention the house band on the day, Janet Levy’s Good Intentions, comprising Janet on sax and vocals, brother John Levy on guitar, John Tweed on keys, Mike Rix on bass, and Russell Prior on drums.
Chris’ words were: “Janet Levy & The Good Intentions were, for me, the best rehearsed, tightest and most entertaining house band I have heard in 14 years at The Blues Society. There have been many better known house bands, but not this good!”
Well done Janet!
Just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for providing some great tunes at our Wedding, we hope you enjoyed the night too. We had some great feedback about the music mainly people saying how relaxed and good the vibe was - really appropriate for the style of the evening.
Thanks again for helping to make our day special -

Hi Janet,
I met you at the Phil Emmanuel gig last Thursday...your sax playing I've admired previously (quite brilliant...really), and was great on the night when you gigged with Phil's band. You have so much passion for your music...and you're also a great ambassador for the industry.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Peter
We want to pay tribute to this incredible lady of the Sax.
She's got the voice...the groove and the real feel of a Great Artist...and we dig her a whole lot...REALLY.
We listened and we learned and we are struck by this woman.
